Tracks and Trails: Searching for Clues to Winter Wildlife in Our Forests, Fields, and Streams
NRWA Workshop for Adults and Children Ages 12 and Up

Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Groton, MA

Join the NRWA’s River Classroom Director and wildlife tracker Stacey Chilcoat for “Tracks and Trails” on Saturday, February 25th, at a conservation property in Groton, MA.  This three-hour in-depth tracking workshop, designed for adults and older children ages 12 and up, focuses on three distinct winter habitats and the animals that not only survive but thrive during our harshest months. Develop a greater understanding of these hardy inhabitants, their habits and activities, and learn to “read” their stories through the signs and clues we discover along the way.

The activity level is moderate hiking or snowshoeing, mostly off-trail through snow.  Attendees will need to dress for the weather: multiple layers, winter boots, and water resistant outer gear (snow pants or gators).  Bring a water bottle and energy snack.  For the comfort of all, no dogs are allowed. The fee is $20/person NRWA members, $25/non-members. Pre-registration is required; space is limited. Directions to the location in Groton will be provided upon registration.
