NRWA 2014 Annual Meeting

Keynote Speaker: Wayne Klockner of Nature Conservancy

Our supporters and the public are invited to join us at our 2014 Annual Meeting.  Wayne Klockner, Vice President and Massachusetts State Director of The Nature Conservancy will speak on "Investing in Nature: How Nature's Benefits Can Create New Conservationists." 

Devens Enterprise Commission logoAt the Annual Meeting, NRWA will present its 2014 NRWA Conservation and Education Awards.  This year's Land and Water Conservation Award will be presented to Thomas E. Sullivan, former chair of the Wachusett Mountain Advisory Committee.  Maura Lyons from Applewild School in Fitchburg will be honored with our Environmental Education Award. We will also be recognizing the generosity of NRWA Business Members, including Watershed Circle and River Club Awards.

The meeting begins with social time, a chance to mingle with NRWA Directors, NRWA staff, other members and friends. About Wayne Klockner: Wayne is responsible for supporting and improving the Conservancy's priority strategies and projects and helping launch new ones in Massachusetts. Wayne also leads the conservation plan for Massachusetts which includes land and water conservation and public policy initiatives related to biodiversity conservation. With over 30 years at The Nature Conservancy, he has worked in Maryland, Delaware, New York, the Conservancy's World Office, and Indonesia prior to moving to Massachusetts 13 years ago. Wayne, an avid birder and flyfisherman, spends much of his free time outdoors.  He received his B.S. Biology and Environmental Planning, Rutgers University.
